First BEFORE & AFTER Project

Our first before and after pictures!!....a closet!!! But, an important milestone. It was a perfect project for the first week of moving in. It was small enough to finish in a couple of days to get that satisfaction of completion. It also gave us the boost we needed to start tackling the bigger projects. Plus, it got rid of a bunch of boxes! Love having a place to put stuff.

The closet is located on the first landing of the staircase up to the kids it's a great place to put all the games and kids books.

I'm not sure if this picture does this closet justice. You may need to click on it to get the full effect. It was pretty gross....dirty, holes and tears in the walls, chips and scratches in the paint, etc. Once again, thanks to Papa's mudding talents and generosity, he covered and smoothed and caulked until I had a nice canvas to work my painting magic. BEFORE.....
The kids solemnly vowed to keep this closet neat and organized.....

  1. See?! The magic has begun already! You have a magic touch Stephanie. This is what I expected from you. You're off to a great start! Love, Aunt Sue

  2. The floor looks really great against the shelving. Love it! Way to go! Can't wait to see the entry next...right?

  3. Dang, Stephanie!! Quite the project. Do you do stuff during the day, or do you wander around making lists of what needs to be done? (That's what I would do since I'd be stuck inside). Do the kids like those mini toilets? That would be my kids fav.

  4. dang girl u have some SERIOUS PATIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!! you are SO good to wait this all out---Jon & I had been married 10 years and had moved 9 times...when we moved to this house i said this HAS to be it-it has to fit 6 kids, have a pool & the kids can walk to school---im done!
here we sit, 4 kids, pool--kids can walk to school and we are probably heading back to OC where we started from-classic huh! HA

this will be FUN FOR ME to watch via your blog---
